NJ Board of Real Estate Appraisers

The state regulatory body under the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs that licenses, regulates, and disciplines real estate appraisers in New Jersey. It sets education requirements, administers examinations, and investigates complaints.

The NJ Board of Real Estate Appraisers oversees all appraiser licensing in the state, from trainee to certified general. It establishes NJ-specific requirements that may exceed national minimums set by the AQB, approves continuing education providers and courses, processes license applications and renewals, and takes disciplinary action against appraisers who violate state law or USPAP. The Board meets regularly and maintains public records of all licensed appraisers, disciplinary actions, and regulatory guidance.
